Interplanetary Shock (or CME Arrival)
Catalog: M2M_CATALOG
Location: STEREO A
Event Time: 2024-09-10T21:00Z ( STEREO A: IMPACT )
All Detecting Spacecrafts:
STEREO A: IMPACT
STEREO A: PLASTIC
Activity ID: 2024-09-10T21:00:00-IPS-001 (version 2)
Quality of ICME Signature: 1 (lacks some signatures)
Note: Characterized by a sudden increase in B-total to 17nT from an already elevated 10nT. Rotation of the B-field components is also observed. No discernable trends yet in density and solar wind speed. Signature is still developing, but our strongest candidate by far is the anticipated arrival of CME:2024-09-08T01:36Z first seen in SOHO LASCO C2. Interaction with an anticipated possible glancing blow to STEREO A from CME:2024-09-07T07:36Z is possible, but unable to be determined at this time with the signature still developing. Analysis is ongoing.
